Sikhism and Sikhism is a religion based on the teachings of the tenth Guru, who lived in India between 1469 and 1708th This is one of the leading world religions, with over 23 million followers of Sikhism What is the fifth most populous religion in the world. Guru comes from the Sanskrit word guru, meaning teacher, guide, or mentor. Sikh holy book called the Guru Granth Sahib.
Important features of Sikhism are emphasizing the unity of creation, turning away from "superstition", the traditional religious rituals and social hierarchies based on religion, origin or gender. But there is a preference for a particular dress, names and appearance. Sikhism is not focused on adherence to religious dogma, instead, to consider the use of religious wisdom in everyday life. Guru Nanak and nine subsequent gurus, to underscore their beliefs contained in the holy book of Sikhs Guru Granth Sahib, to be released, and content to distance himself from the then dominant religion of their environment at that time, among others, Hinduism and Islam.

Sikhism, however reserves the Hindu doctrine of reincarnation, although it teaches that people can leave the cycle of rebirth, if the good works God bestow favor.
The five "K" or object of faith
Sikh believers with you always wear the following five items:
* Kesh: Long hair and beards, which should not be cut
* Khang: small comb that hair Buy
* Kara: Metal bracelet
* Kacha: wide pants that allow seamless battle
* Kirpan: a small dagger or sword, which was previously used on ceremonial occasions. Kirpan symbolizes power and freedom of spirit, self-esteem, and the constant struggle of good and moral injustice. Kirpan should not be used for the attack but allowed its use for self-defense or to protect third parties.
Sikhski Khanda is a symbol that has three arms (pictured right). Each weapon has its own special symbolic meaning:
* Khanda: the real sword symbolizes the knowledge of God
* Kirpans: wrong swords represent the political and spiritual independence
* Chakkar: a weapon in the form of a disc symbolizes the unity of God.
